Location Essay

No Better Place than Panera By: Lizzy Nelson
I got out of my car and I started to walk through the doors, I could smell the delicious food already. My mouth started to water and I could taste the food in my mouth. I heard very quietly over the loud customers “Welcome to Panera”. It was very crowded and the line was long but I decided to wait in the line because I wanted a decent meal. The line was going by pretty fast because there were a lot of employees working. I was looking around, and right away the pastries caught my eye. They were all organized nicely behind the glass. Looking at the pastries made me extremely hungry.
Panera bread is known for their wonderful pastries. It was founded in 1981 by Louis Kane and Ron Shaich. The company used to be called Au Pain Company but the name was changed in 1999 to Panera Bread. Panera Bread is one of the most popular and fastest growing chains in America today; also it’s the number one fast food place.
The cashier says, “I can help the next person, please”. I walk up to the counter, unsure of what I want still because there are so many options to chose from. The cashier was being friendly, she was asking me how my day was going and asked me if I had any questions about the menu. I knew that the caesar salad there was good because I get that every time, but I was in the mood for a sandwich. So I asked the cashier if the grilled cheese was any good. She had a smile on her face and said, “The grilled cheese is excellent”. She was patient with me and she didn’t make me rush. I decided to get half chicken caesar salad and half of a grilled cheese with an apple and a cookie. I sat down and waited for my food. I was looking around at everyone and I felt happy. The colors made me feel like I was at home. I was looking at the pictures that were on the wall. Most of the pictures were paintings of random kinds of breads. The food came out pretty fast and I couldn’t wait to eat. My grilled cheese looked wonderful. The cheese was squirting out of the bread. I took a bite of the grilled cheese and it just melted into my mouth. The chicken caesar salad had the perfect amount of dressing and chicken.
Panera is a great place to catch a quick bite to eat. It is fast and it is good for you compared to other restaurants. According to Health Magazine, in the article America’s top 10 Healthiest Fast Food Restaurants, Tracey Minkin and Brittani Renaud state, “This bakery-cafe-based eatery wowed our judges with a comprehensive menu of healthy choices for every meal. You can pick from two whole-grain breads for your sandwich and have an apple with it instead of chips”. Panera was in a magazine for being a healthy fast food restaurant. Panera is good for you because the food is fresh. They have so many different options. They have sandwiches, soups, pastas, and salads. They also have a lot of different pastries as well.
Some people may say the quality of Panera’s food is bad and the place is loud. People would think it's bad because it's labeled as a fast food restaurant, but in reality Panera has quality food. The food at Panera is real. They have organic things there like milk and yogurt. During lunch time Panera gets a lot of customers. It’s not even loud, there are just a lot of people that go to Panera during lunch. Most people are working when they go to Panera. For the most part Panera is usually quiet.
A worker came over and cleaned everything up for me. When I was walking out of the door the workers said, “Bye, thanks for coming have a good day”. The workers are so nice and they make the restaurant so much better. I was content walking out because I was starving walking in but I could barely walk out because I was so full. I got into my car and I was thinking about the next time I was going to eat there again. I wanted to just stay in there because it made me so happy.

Rhetorical Triangle/ Situation Homework

Cigarettes are not good for you. Cigarettes will kill you. They will shorten your life because once your start it will be hard to stop.

The intended audience is smokers or teenagers. Most smokers know smoking is bad for them but they are addicted and they like how it makes them feel. Older people now a days smoke a lot more then younger people because they didn't have much knowledge on smoking when they were younger. They thought smoking was cool back then that's why most of them smoke now. Now they are addicted and its hard for them to stop smoking. Teenagers need to be aware of what smoking does to their body. They are young and they think smoking is cool but in reality smoking is not cool. Smokers need to see what they are doing to themselves. Smoking causes health problems. Smoking will kill people and it will make them live a shorter life.

The message of this photo is saying smoking will kill you. If you smoke you will live a shorter life. Once you light one cigarette you will become addicted. They want smoking to stop because smoking will end your life earlier if you do smoke. Smoking causes a lot of health problems. This can motivate people to stop smoking because usually people want to live a longer life. This can make people spread the word of smoking. Smoking is not good for you and it will make your life shorter if you keep smoking.

The communicator is someone who is against smoking and is someone who is trying to prevent smoking. The communicator is trying to help everyone. The communicator is giving information to all ages that smoking is bad. The person wants everyone to be healthy. The person wants people to live a long and healthy life with no health problems. The communicator is talking about this because a lot of people smoke. The communicator is trying to spread the world of how bad smoking is and how smoking will make your life shorter.

There's a lot of people in the United States that smoke. Its not good for people to smoke because of all the health problems smoking causes. The purpose of this ad is to try to prevent people from smoking. Its trying to persuade other not to smoke or to stop smoking. This picture seems like it would be a success because its a scary concept. The audience should be persuaded because smoking will make your life shorter if you keep smoking. Most people would be convinced because they would rather live a longer life then a shorter life. People that smoked once in while and saw this picture would stop smoking because most people want to lie long. Most people that smoke and saw this picture would try to stop and try to get help so they could live a longer, healthier life. Some smokers are too addicted that this picture would not help them. Some people don't believe this and they think smoking is fine for them. The author relies more on logos because the author is trying to persuade by logic. The author wants people to see what smoking does to them. Its their decision if they want to smoke or not but the author is trying to help and persuade people not to smoke because it will make your life shorter if you smoke for a long time.

Tell Me About Yourself: Personal Statement vs. Roommate Profile

My grandpa inspires me everyday. He did so much as a kid and I look up to him so much. I want to be just like him. He made me the person I am today. He is suffering everyday but he is always so happy and never shows that he is in pain. He makes me want to help others. I love helping people because it makes me happy when the people appreciate it. When I help him I can tell how much he appreciates it and it makes me happy. He shows me to just live your life to the fullest, so when I graduate college I hope I can travel the world. There's so much I want to learn and see. I love adventures and I am willing to try new things. I hope to find a good job that makes me happy. I would like to be a teacher for elementary kids, a trainer, or a relator. I am interested in a lot of things, so these jobs would fit me. I would like to have kids with the person I love when I am done doing adventurous things. I hope to achieve a lot when I'm older and I want to live my life to the fullest.

The one thing that has been apart of me my whole life is soccer. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didn't play soccer. Soccer has made me very competitive and strong. I have found my best friends on my soccer team. I would be lost if I didn't have them in my life. I trust them with everything and they always make me feel happy. I can be myself around them and they don't care how weird I am.  My teammates and my friends mean the world to me and I don't know what I would do without them. Another thing that is really important to me is my family. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didn't have them. They made me a strong and a caring person today. They taught me to follow my dreams. I am very adventurous. I love nature and being outside. I love having fun and being active. I hate being still because I get distracted very easily. I am the type of person who loves helping and working with people and kids. I don't like it when people are sad because it makes me sad. I laugh at everything. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didn't have soccer, my family, and my friends in my life.
